Since we started growing Ajaka basil two years ago, it has fast become the farm favorite. Originally bred in Germany, it features lush green leaves and beautiful red-purple flowers in late summer. Plants have a strong, upright growth, and its sweet yet spicy flavor, along with it's delightful smell, make it a culinary gem for chefs and home cooks alike. Will tolerate cooler temperatures and has some disease resistance.
Growing: Requires warm temperatures but will tolerate some cold.
